Correct. dammit. It's sod's law too - the one weekend I have nothing on, no prior commitments, the kid's going on a sleepover, I have all the time in the world to call my own and it's flat. I call it 'Groovn Syndrome'....

Re: The Mounties have Arrived
It's that 9' retro-looking one I bought at the end of last season. It's a bit of a dog really, but I liked the spray on it. I joke to my friends that I bought the world's most expensive board bag....lol
It's a proper nose-rider (massive concave under the nose and everything, I've lugged it down to the water a few times and had a few rides on it but it doesn't seem to like me

Re: The Mounties have Arrived
I SOLD a ^&%#$! 7'6" mini mal to get the noserider!
Nah, i'm dusting off Dory (my fish) and gonna start shredding those gnarly Mountie 1 footers on her, at least on Dory I know where to stand, she's only 12 inches longer than I am!

Yep, fish will work for ya Kat.
I'm in the market for a newy but cant decide whether to stay around the 8' mark or go for a nose rider. Different style required to what I'm doing at the moment - the Waterhog is supposed to be surfed like a thruster - well I try
I'm quite interested in checking out a McTavish Eightball - 8'6" model - they claim it's good for quickies on the nose.

Re: The Mounties have Arrived
Yea for the Mounties
Swellmap showing a huuuuuge (not) 1 foot NE groundie for the weekend with light SSW in the morning.
It's gotta be better than the tabletop ocean we've had for the last two weeks eh?
Cant wait
Might put myself through the washing machine on a hot cycle and see if I shrink a bit more

Re: The Mounties have Arrived
I'd take 1 foot at present. Yes I am that desperate (and fortunately also short enough that 1 foot looks like a reasonable sized wave to me :p)
I'm in The Grinder multisport event this weekend, two days of it, plus I have to build a floor for a shed I'll be having delivered shortly. So this weekend's not looking promising for me But if that 1 footer is out there first thing Saturday morning I may just have to find time go there!

Sounds like fun Kat, never did that one.
I did a couple of Tinmans a few years ago, always wanted to do Taupo, but the legs kept breaking down

You guys need to move to Christchurch.
Downsouth and I had Magnet at 3-4 foot with a firm offshore this morning for 2 hours by ourselves. God I love mid-week surfing. And hate weekend surfing.

I think you've just voiced what many of us were probably thinking
So you're coming over next weekend? You're not a swell-squisher like Groovn are you??
